5 Creative Uses of QR Codes
Want to spice up your marketing and show consumers how tech-savvy you are? QR codes are a great way to make traditional one-way marketing mediums more interactive and engaging—enabling you to connect with potential clients like never before!
A QR (quick response) code is simply a matrix barcode encoded with data such as a URL, text, phone number…or almost anything you want. Smart phone users with a QR code reader can then scan the code to discover what interesting secrets await!
Here are 5 creative ways QR codes can integrated into traditional marketing mediums:
1. Name Tags
Incorporating a QR code into your name tag can make you stand out at your next event!
2. Posters
Using a QR code in your posters makes it easy for people to get more information if they’re interested. Also great for real estate “For Sale” signs.
3. On business cards
Including a QR code on your business card makes it really easy for people to learn more about you without cluttering your card.
4. On Clothing
You can be a walking billboard for your company!
5. Labels
People can easily learn more about your product by scanning the QR code included on your label.
While these 5 creative uses of QR codes are viable options for most small businesses, we’ve also seen QR codes on billboards, as tattoos, in scavenger hunts and on buildings! The possibilities are truly endless when it comes to incorporating this interactive element into traditional marketing mediums! What are some fun places you’ve seen QR codes? Share them with us!

A QR code as a tattoo? That’s something I want to see!
Is there any data corresponding to the response from clients from using QR codes versus traditional forms of marketing without the QR codes?
Not really sure what you’re asking, but you can track the response of a QR code by having it link to a page that is only accessible by the QR code….your analytics will tell you how many unique visitors come to that page, enabling you to measure the success of your campaign.
You have to love this technology that allows you to advertise this way. This is truly a digital age we’re living in. From websites to social media and now QR codes. While still relatively new to me, I’m sure this is the way of the future.
Hey Cassidy: I think seeing a QR tattoo would be pretty cool too! Although it’d have to pull up something great or a really cool site that’d going to be around forever. I don’t think I’d have the guts to get one!
Me either Ryan, but it would be interesting to talk to the person who invested in the QR Code and to hear what kind of responses they get.
@Rick: You truly do have to be connected with technology in order to stay up-to-date in the modern world.
